about
"KILL, THE ICON!" are a protest punk trio based in London.
Furious at the actions of the government, and despondent about the inertia in British society, "KILL, THE ICON!" make fast-paced music that promises to make a dent in the kleptocracy.
Formed in 2020, the band were invited to play their debut show a few months later by Fierce Panda on the strength of a single demo.
Since then, the band have played shows across England, picking up an engaged following along the way. To date, KILL, THE ICON! have released two singles: Buddhist Monk and Bourdain.
Both singles have received extensive airplay on Radio X (John Kennedy) as well as multiple playlists on Amazing Radio and Amazing Radio USA.
KILL, THE ICON! aim to explore the history of protest, activism and anti-fascism through a satirical lens. References to Tarantino and Fincher films serve to create a pop culture universe within which sardonic icons come to life and ask probing questions of the listener.
Founded by a bandleader who has been at the forefront of recent protest movements, KILL, THE ICON! aims to function as a post-pandemic soundtrack to modern British activism. The band consists of Nishant Joshi (bass, vocals), Ian Flynn (synth) and Florin Pascu (drums).
